Arsenal's summer transfer business finally looks to have concluded with a seventh new signing sanctioned. The Gunners have already welcomed Eberechi Eze, Viktor Gyokeres, Cristhian Mosquera, Noni Madueke, Christian Norgaard, Martin Zubimendi and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Despite over £250 million being spent, no departures have yet been sanctioned even with interest emerging in Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Vieira, Reiss Nelson and Jakub Kiwior. The latter looks set to join Porto with that switch getting the green-lit expected to be followed by Piero Hincapie joining Arsenal from Bayer Leverkusen.
More additions before Monday, September 1 currently appears unlikely unless several exits go through over the weekend. Rodrygo has been linked to joining throughout the summer but a message from the man himself has suggested he will stay at Real Madrid.
Rodrygo message
Following Madrid discovering their Champions League opponents for the 2025/26 season, Rodrygo has hinted he will be at the club for those fixtures courtesy of a clear message.
On X, alongside an image of Real's league stage opponents, he wrote: "In search of the 16th," with a trophy emoji.
Following on from his start against Real Oviedo, the Brazil international may be much more confident that regular minutes will be coming his way. Xabi Alonso's comments have also suggested that he has a part to play.
Manchester City not letting Savinho join Tottenham likely confirmed their final decision with Rodrygo having been identified as their preferred replacement.
Hincapie deal agreed and medical booked
According to David Ornstein of the Athletic , Arsenal have reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Hincapie on loan for the 2025/26 campaign.
It has also been claimed that there will be a £45million (€52m) buy-option included in the switch with the Ecuador international set to undergo a medical this weekend.
With Kiwior set to depart, this is a brilliant deal for the Gunners, and Hincapie - who can play in the centre of defence and at left-back - is undoubtedly the perfect Arteta player.
The deal is also not even remotely risky with Arsenal having the choice to not bring him on board permanently next summer despite the fact Leverkusen were determined to see his release clause activated in order to sanction a sale.
