Chelsea have confirmed the sale of Christopher Nkunku with AC Milan securing the Frenchman's signature. Nkunku has signed a five-year contract at the San Siro after the two clubs reached an agreement understood to be worth €35million (£30.2million), plus a further €5million (£4.3million) in add-ons.

The 27-year-old spent two seasons at Stamford Bridge after signing for £52million in the summer of 2023. Nkunku ends his time with the Blues with a record of 18 goals and five assists in 62 appearances across all competitions. Nkunku informed Chelsea of his desire to leave the club earlier in the summer, having been a bit-part player under Enzo Maresca last season.

The news comes on the same morning as Nicolas Jackson's loan move to Bayern Munich was agreed . The 24-year-old striker is set to sign for the German champions on an initial season-long loan deal, with the Munich-based club having the option to make it permanent next summer.

Jackson has been given permission to fly to Munich today (Saturday) to complete the move that would see him bolster an attacking line that includes the likes of Michael Olise , Luis Diaz and Harry Kane . From these two deals alone, Chelsea are set to receive over £43million and that is without including add-ons, and of course the option for a permanent deal next summer in Jackson's case.

Chelsea enquired about a loan deal with an option to buy, but Brighton are reluctant to let go of the talented Buonanotte. The Seagulls are open to allowing him to leave on loan to another Premier League side to further his development and that looked at one point to be Leeds United. However, with Chelsea deciding not to make an official offer for Xavi Simons , who ended up signing for Tottenham instead, the Blues are now in for Buonanotte.

Fermin Lopez is also an option. As reported earlier in the week , the west Londoners contacted the Spain international and his representatives to gauge interest in whether a deal could be done before next week's deadline. Reports from Spain suggest Lopez wants to stay at Barcelona, but Chelsea have not given up hope just yet.
