Cole Palmer's dream 5-a-side team includes wasted Man Utd talent as he cracks a smile

Cole Palmer has selected Manchester United academy graduate Ravel Morrison in his dream five-a-side squad ahead of any of his former Manchester City colleagues. Both players hail from Wythenshawe in Manchester , although they are nearly ten years apart in age.

Palmer famously supported United during his youth, around the period when Morrison was making his trio of first-team outings for United. The pair appear to share a friendship despite never featuring together or facing off during their respective careers.

After making his choice, Palmer could not help but crack a smile. Online, they follow each other across social platforms, with Morrison even celebrating Palmer's maiden England call-up in November 2023.

Sharing a post from the England account following their squad announcement, Morrison wrote: "Told him he's in the next England squad, he didn't think I was being serious! Congratulations, bro, truly deserved!".

Palmer also included himself in his fantasy five-a-side lineup when quizzed by Chelsea in a YouTube Short .

Initially, though, he picked a goalkeeper and opted for Thibaut Courtois , despite never sharing a pitch with the Belgian shot-stopper.

Nevertheless, he's had plenty of opportunities to observe the Real Madrid star in action.

Those moments occurred as part of City's matchday squad when they clashed with Madrid on five occasions during the Champions League knockout rounds between 2020 and 2023.

The first outfield player selected was Lionel Messi . He also faced City while Palmer was at the club, playing for Paris Saint-Germain during the group stages in November 2021, with the academy graduate remaining an unused substitute.

Neymar , who featured in that match, too, was Palmer's next pick. However, neither he nor Messi managed to score PSG 's only goal of that game.

Instead, it was Kylian Mbappe who broke the deadlock. City then completed an impressive comeback as Raheem Sterling levelled the scores before Gabriel Jesus fired in their winner.
