The boisterous bovine caused major issues on the M62 ahead of Tuesday night's Carabao Cup clash at Blackburn.

More than 3,000 Bantams made the trip to Ewood Park for the first-round battle.

Many hopped on the M62 for the 52-mile trip to the home of their rivals.

But the Bradford faithful were left udderly unamoosed after their travel plans were disrupted by a calamitous cow.

The beast brought traffic to a standstill as it marched down the hard shoulder, forcing traffic officers into a crucial interception.

A photo taken at the scene saw a marked vehicle attempting to guide the cow safely off the road.

However, the creature's wellbeing came at the expense of Bradford fans, who were left pressed for time ahead of a 7.45pm kick-off.

Many were left in gridlock traffic as their movements ground to a halt.

But some saw the opportunity to milk the moment by reacting with some cow-based puns.

One said: "Hopefully won't be long before the traffic's mooving."

Another declared: "Hopefully here before calf-time."

One noted: "Imagine if this happened near Uddersfield."

Another added: "Hopefully no hoof ball tonight."

Fortunately for Bradford fans, they eventually appeared to get to the game on time.

The match kicked off promptly at 7.45pm.

And travelling supporters were rewarded for their cow wars with a second-minute opening strike from Ibou Touray.

Things got even better moments later when they quick doubled their lead through Will Swan.

And even Bradford's X account got involved with the cow banter, posting: "Holy cow it's two!"
