Erling Haaland suffers freak facial injury on Norway team bus
Erling Haaland was left needing stitches in his face after a freak accident while away on international duty with Norway.
The Manchester City striker, 24, scored the only goal in Norway’s 1-0 win over Finland on Thursday and is now preparing to face Moldova in their latest World Cup qualifier. But he’ll be doing so with a fresh battle scar after clashing with a bus door.
Haaland revealed the incident on Snapchat, sharing a photo of a cut under his lip alongside the caption: “Just got banged out by a bus door. Three stitches.”
Norwegian outlet VG reported he was struck by a luggage door while exiting the team bus, though the injury is not considered serious.

Never one to miss a joke, Haaland asked fans for “wrong answers only” on how it happened. When one suggested teammate Martin Ødegaard was responsible, the striker replied: “Correct.” He later quipped that the cut “looked good.”
Norway are pushing to qualify for their first World Cup since 1998, and with four wins from four games – plus four goals in four from Haaland – they look well on course.
And if the team’s star striker can survive a bus door, chances are he can handle whatever defenders try next.
