FFF president sends letter to calm PSG tensions

Tensions between Paris Saint-Germain and the France national team have risen in recent days. Two PSG players, Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué, were injured during France’s 2-0 win over Ukraine on Friday. The former will be out for six weeks and the latter out for four weeks, the club have confirmed.

Prior to the injury, PSG had warned France’s medical staff about Dembélé’s fitness issues. They believe that those concerns were not heard and are reportedly “furious” about how he was managed by Les Bleus. It led PSG to call for increased collaboration with France’s medical staff going forward, in an official press release.

“The club deplores that the recommendations weren’t taken into account by the medical staff of the France national team, as well as deploring the total lack of communication and consultation from the medical team,” read the statement.

PSG added that they hoped that the “regrettable events” would allow for new, formalised coordination between the club and Les Bleus going forward. They called for the measures to be implemented “urgently”, to allow for more “transparent and collaborative” protocols.

The French FA, the FFF, are now looking to ease the growing tensions. As per L’Équipe , FFF president, Philippe Diallo has sent a letter to PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi. The object of the letter was to advocate for a calming of the situation, whilst Diallo also expressed his support and trust in France’s medical staff. He also advocated for collaboration between the FFF and PSG , something that the latter have already expressed an interest in.
