It’s been a long 77-match wait for Thauvin to re-enter the international picture, but he marked his return in remarkable fashion against Azerbaijan.

Introduced in the 83rd minute to replace Kylian Mbappé, the winger made an instant impact. He scored with his very first touch after being picked out in the box by a Theo Hernández cross.

Thauvin took a touch to control before unleashing a stunning volley into the back of the net to make it 3-0 to the hosts on the night.
