Fulham vs Man United preview, team news and predicted lineup

Manchester United travel to Craven Cottage to face Fulham in the second round of fixtures of the new Premier League season. United will be looking to bounce back from defeat while Fulham will be riding high after fighting and clawing back a late equaliser at Brighton.
The Cottagers will be eager to improve on their league performance having missed out on Europe last minute but with only one summer signing in the form of a second-choice goalkeeper, it will be difficult to achieve this feat. It must be incredibly frustrating for Marco Silva who has seen his side showed constant signs of improvements but has not been backed appropriately in the market in comparison to his competitors - including Ruben Amorim.
The former Sporting Lisbon manager has now set the tone at Old Trafford and has received more than adequate backing in the summer as he looks to spearhead his new attacking front up the Premier League table. Finishing 15th last season was not on any United fan's wishlist and missing out on Champions League football via Europa League would have hurt more but with Bryan Mbuemo, Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha in the squad now things might look a bit brighter for the club this season.
Manchester United head to Craven Cottage with a near clean bill of health but a couple of big calls to make. It remains unchanged on the injury front for the visitors: last season’s match‑winner at the Cottage, Martínez (knee), and Noussair Mazraoui (hamstring) are still sidelined, while Amorim otherwise has a full squad to choose from.
Marco Silva’s concerns also sit at left‑back. Ryan Sessegnon (unspecified) and Antonee Robinson (knee) missed the trip to Brighton, but neither has been ruled out of Sunday. Even so, Calvin Bassey remains the likeliest option to patrol the left of the defence if late tests do not clear the senior duo.
Raúl Jiménez faces pressure after Rodrigo Muniz’s South Coast heroics. Up the pitch, Silva has a genuine dilemma at number 10. Josh King offers direct running, Emile Smith Rowe brings craft between the lines, and former United midfielder Andreas Pereira provides set‑piece quality and an understanding of the stage. The choice will colour how Fulham press and how quickly they can spring transitions.
Fulham: Leno; Tete, Andersen, Cuenca, Bassey; Berge, Lukic; Wilson, King, Iwobi; Jimenez
Man United: Onana; Yoro, Ligt, Shaw; Diallo, Fernandes, Casemiro, Dorgu; Mbeumo, Sesko, Cunha
