Galatasaray closing in on deal to sign Yves Bissouma from Tottenham Hotspur

Turkish giants Galatasaray are closing in on a deal to sign Yves Bissouma from Tottenham Hotspur , according to RMC Sport .

Personal terms have already been agreed between Bissouma and Galatasaray , who are in the final stages of their negotiations with Tottenham.

The sticking point in earlier transfer talks was the structure of the deal, as Galatasaray had earlier preferred a loan arrangement, while Spurs were holding out for a permanent transfer, given Bissouma’s contract situation.

Bissouma has had a turbulent spell in North London since joining from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2022 for around £25 million.

While he has shown flashes of quality, the 28-year-old Malian midfielder has struggled for consistent game time under multiple managers.

Disciplinary issues, including repeated lateness, have further complicated his standing at the club, leading to his exclusion from matchday squads, most notably for the recent UEFA Super Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain.

Bissouma has been sidelined by new manager Thomas Frank and finds himself well down the pecking order.

Despite interest from city rivals Fenerbahce, Galatasaray have emerged as the frontrunner to secure his signature, with the club seeing him as a valuable addition to their midfield.

Bissouma has given the green light to the move, viewing the reigning Super Lig champions as a promising new chapter where he can regain form and regular playing time.

Having completed big-name acquisitions of Victor Osimhen and Leroy Sane, Galatasaray have been active this summer and could bring in three new players over the next week or so.

As they near a deal for Bissouma, Okan Buruk’s side are also set to land Wilfred Singo from Monaco, while remaining in discussions with Manchester City over deals for Ederson and Manuel Akanji.
