Deji Elerewe netted the opener for Bromley before former West Ham defender Ben Johnson equalised to force spotkicks.
However, manager Kieran McKenna was without one of his key players in Hutchinson for the match .
The ex-Chelsea ace has been the subject of Premier League interest this summer following Ipswich's relegation to the Championship .
Brentford missed the attacker's deadline to activate his £35million release clause in July.
Nottingham Forest , Everton and Inter Milan have also been credited with interest in the 21-year-old's signature.
McKenna said: "He trained on Monday okay, and then felt he couldn't contribute today with the situation as it is.
"That was his decision.
"He made his desire to continue to play Premier League football if the opportunity is there.
"I think it's known how much care and empathy we have for him, he's a young player, 21 years old, it's not an easy situation to handle.
"There's different ways to handle the situation.
"That seems to be more prevalent in modern football and players get advice in different directions.
"He's a very, very young player so we have empathy with him.
"We'll try and guide him in the right way in terms of how to deal with situations, but so long as he's at the football club, we want him able to contribute and help the team on the pitch."

Hutchinson was also absent for Ipswich's draw against Birmingham City
Should he be sold this summer, then Chelsea would earn a windfall from the sale.
The Blues hold a 25 per cent sell-on clause on him as it was agreed as part of his move to Portman Road.
Hutchinson impressed last term in Suffolk as he scored three times and assisted twice in his 31 appearances.
However, his performances were not enough to save the club from the drop.
Ipswich have already lost Liam Delap this summer as the striker made a £30m move to Stamford Bridge.
