Jose Mourinho made his return to FC Porto with Benfica on Sunday, but the game between two of Portugal's biggest clubs descended into chaos as objects were thrown in his direction while away fans appeared to fight each other.
The former Chelsea , Manchester United and Tottenham manager was appointed as Benfica's new head coach last month , just weeks after being sacked by Fenerbahce. And Mourinho 's latest match in charge of Benfica saw him return to the same club he guided to Champions League glory back in 2004 before making the jump to the Premier League .
Mourinho's decision to manage one of Porto's biggest rivals has upset some fans, meaning he was unlikely to receive the warmest of welcomes. And unfortunately, the 62-year-old's return to the Estadio do Dragao was marred by unsavoury scenes as Benfica and Porto played out a 0-0 draw in the O Classico.
The Sun report that Mourinho was targeted by fans who threw objects including lighters and water bottles in his direction, with such incidents leading to play being stopped on more than one occasion. Other supporters made their feelings clear with a banner directed at their former manager that read: "There's only one Special One - Futebol Clube Porto."
And there were also unsavoury scenes among the travelling supporters as some Benfica fans clashed with each other, the report adds. Stewards and police attempted to break up the fighting which marred the game.

Mourinho did not seem to be affected by happenings off the pitch on the touchline and was even seen picking up some of the objects which were thrown in his direction.
While he was targeted by angry fans, Mourinho did get one over on his old club to a certain extent as he halted Porto's impressive winning run in the league, where they had a 100 per cent record prior to the game.

The point means Mourinho has yet to taste defeat in the league since returning to Benfica, where he started his managerial career more than 20 years ago.
Porto end the weekend three points clear of Sporting Lisbon and four clear of Benfica, who sit third in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
