Kirill Glebov: Russian prodigy dreams of Manchester United move
CSKA Moscow starlet Kirill Glebov has caught the imagination of clubs across Europe, but Manchester United may have an advantage in the race.
The Russian forward began his youth career at Start Chelyabinsk, before moving to the VEB Arena in 2020. Glebov broke into the CSKA senior side in 2023, and has enjoyed an exponential rise ever since. The 19 year old is under contract until 2027, and is already being regarded as one of the brightest young prospects in the country.
Arsenal, RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Inter Milan are among the clubs eyeing the young forward with interest. However, Glebov has his eyes on a move to Old Trafford instead.
According to Caught Offside , Glebov dreams of playing for United.
The Premier League giants have preferred to sign rising talents instead of ageing superstars in recent windows, which has been a welcome shift from their previous approach.
Since their arrival, INEOS have invested in young players like Leny Yoro, Ayden Heaven, Chido Obi and Diego Leon. Glebov represents an interesting opportunity in the market as well.
The Russian is equally adept at operating on both flanks, which has added to his rising stock. He has racked up four goals and two assists from 11 games across competitions this season.
Glebov is also comfortable in the middle of the park, where he thrives in pockets of space between midfield and attack. He is quick, with good dribbling abilities, and knows his way to the goal.
While he is not the finished product yet, the teenager has all the ingredients to develop into a world beater.
Glebov has previously expressed his fondness for United. Speaking to Sport24 earlier this month, the Russian said that he fell in love with Old Trafford and Sir Alex Ferguson.
Asked if he would move to a top league, he replied: “Not this winter, of course. But not in five years, I hope. The dream is Manchester United . I fell in love with it as a brand: Old Trafford, Ferguson.”
The Red Devils have a rich history of investing and trusting in youth, which has been the cornerstone of their success.
The Russian is currently valued at €1.5m, which could make him a low-risk investment for United. The Army Men, though, would like him to stay at Moscow and continue his development.
