Liverpool Eye £100m Isak as Arsenal Chase Gordon

Alexander Isak leaving Newcastle United during this summer transfer window could still impact Arsenal despite the Sweden international not being bound for north London.
Liverpool appear the likeliest club to sign the centre-forward despite already signing Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz this month. It would presumably take a British record transfer fee to make any move happen, but the Reds appear able to afford such an outlay.
Arsenal assumed a move for Isak was off the table and have now agreed to sign his compatriot Viktor Gyokeres . But the 25-year-old striker reportedly exploring moves away could still impact their business.
That is because Isak is not the only Newcastle player whom Arsenal have a well-documented interest in. Anthony Gordon is another.
Firstly, they are said to be exploring a move for Benjamin Sesko should they require a replacement. The influx of a £100million-plus fee would presumably ease the issues Arsenal had negotiating with the Bundesliga club.
It also appears increasingly unlikely that Newcastle would allow Gordon and Isak to leave during the same transfer window. They have already signed Anthony Elanga, but they seemingly want the former Nottingham Forest winger to flank Gordon rather than replace the England international.
Had they already signed Hugo Ekitike, it may be a different story. However, after publicly missing out on multiple targets this summer, backing themselves to sign a whole new frontline in the window's final month with their track record would be bold.
