Liverpool were hit with another late blow on Saturday as a 96th minute strike gave Chelsea the winner over the Reds at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Following a 97th minute winner for Crystal Palace a week earlier, Arne Slot's team have now lost three games in a row, after also losing away to Galatasaray in the Champions League .

Despite still being second in the Premier League table, one point behind leaders Arsenal , Liverpool had headed into the Palace tie five points clear of Mikel Arteta's team.

Liverpool will next face Manchester United Anfield after the international break. Slot will be determined to find quick fixes to the plethora of problems he faces in order to avoid four defeats on the bounce.

With long-term transfer target Marc Guehi back in the spotlight and Mohamed Salah's work ethic in the game against Chelsea making headlines, Mirror Football takes a look at all the latest news coming out of Anfield.

While many expect Liverpool to go back in for Crystal Palace star Guehi in January or in the summer, it looks like they're going to face stiff competition courtesy of Bayern Munich .

According to reports in Germany, the Bavarian's head of sport, Max Eberl, is said to be an admirer of the Eagles skipper. Rumours are suggesting that the Bundesliga giants champions have already held talks with the player’s camp with a view to snapping the player up on a free next summer.

Real Madrid will also be looking to bolster their central defensive ranks and Los Blancos boss Xabi Alonso is also thought to be interested. Guehi maintains his complete concentration is with Palace following the collapse of his deadline day switch.

The England international had agreed personal terms on a £35m move to the Premier League champions in the summer. Palace withdrew from negotiations after failing to secure a suitable replacement, leaving Guehi's dream transfer in ruins.

"I don't have much to say, to be honest," he said. "I'm focused on playing football and playing for this club. But to the fans (I want to say) thank you very much for your support. I definitely feel it."

After a season that can only be described as iconic last time out, Salah was expected to hit the same heights again this season. However, while the Liverpool winger has managed three goals and three assists in 10 games, his stats and all around performance are not reflective of a player who was recently voted fourth in the Ballon d'Or awards.

His performance against Chelsea has raised questions with Blues defender Marc Cucurella revealing Enzo Maresca's side deliberately targeted Liverpool’s right-hand side due to the space left by the 33-year-old.

This summer, the Egyptian revealed that he discussed having fewer defensive responsibilities with Slot, with an agreement that he would look after the team when it comes to scoring instead. However, with Liverpool struggling to find the back of the net, Salah is now being targeted by some quarters.

"I told him [Slot]: ‘As long as you rest me defensively, I will provide offensively," Salah said in April after winning the Premier League title. "Try to rest me as much as I could and I will show you the numbers’. I’m glad that I did. It was the manager’s idea but I think he listened a lot. I spoke to him and you can see the numbers.

"It’s quite tricky because when you play in the Premier League you have to defend also. I told him that I can gamble here and there but when I get the ball I am always free and can make the difference. I think the number of assists also shows that. It’s not just goals - it’s about creating chances that are different for the team."
