Man United eyeing double swoop for Ajax talents Arron Bouwman and Jorthy Mokio
Manchester United are reportedly one of multiple Premier League clubs that are keeping an eye on Ajax wonderkids Arron Bouwman and Jorthy Mokio.
Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe assumed operational control of United in February last year, the club’s transfer strategy has radically shifted from primarily signing already-established superstars to snapping up the best talents in football, who can be nurtured to potentially become world-class.
Over the past few months, United have landed youngsters like Chido Obi, Ayden Heaven, Patrick Dorgu, Leny Yoro, Enzo Kana-Biyik and Diego Leon, just to name a few.
In today’s game, where inflated transfer fees are the norm, the real race lies in spotting hidden gems and nurturing their potential.
United are not showing any signs of slowing down and now, it has emerged that the Red Devils are interested in Ajax duo Bouwman and Mokio.
According to TEAMtalk , Bouwman and Mokio are part of a growing list of Europe’s brightest young talents attracting interest from the continent’s elite clubs.
TEAMtalk say about Bouwman, “Clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United , Barcelona, Liverpool, and Manchester City are all circling, viewing him as the next in a lineage of Dutch defensive gems destined for stardom.”
The news outlet notes about Mokio, “Sources whisper of blockbuster bids incoming in 2026, as his vision and tenacity in the engine room scream ‘future anchor.’ The same clubs who are watching his teenage teammate are also keeping tabs on his situation.”
A powerful, fast and combative central defender, Bouwman has already made his senior debut for Ajax this season. With Chelsea snapping up Jorrel Hato, he now appears to be the academy’s next big defensive product.
Meanwhile, Mokio is understood to have rejected lucrative offers elsewhere, choosing instead to focus on his development at Ajax.
The 17-year-old defensive midfielder has turned out three times in the Eredivisie this term, amassing 60 minutes of action.
There is little doubt United will continue tracking the pair as they weigh up a double swoop next summer.
