Ruben Amorim and Manchester United will aim to maintain their momentum when they face Brighton on Saturday. The Portuguese manager's side pulled off a brilliant win against rivals Liverpool last time out.

Despite a dire start to the season , United's results have begun to improve. They have won three of their last four league matches and calls for head coach Amorim to be replaced have have quietened – for the time being, at least.

Their 2-1 victory at Anfield last weekend seemed to be a turning point and it is hoped this momentum can carry forward to their clash with the Seagulls. Matheus Cunha , who arrived this summer for £62.5million from Wolves , impressed on Merseyside.

He played in the centre-forward position and had Liverpool's defence at sixes and sevens with his impressive movement . Light has now been shed on what the Brazilian is truly like away from the pitch as Mirror Football brings you all the latest updates from Old Trafford.

Cunha played a pivotal role in United's victory over Liverpool and head coach Amorim explained why after the clash. He said: "Sometimes the characteristics of the game change the way you are going to approach the game, so I think, for example, Cunha in the middle.

"If we put Ben [Sesko], I think it's easier for these centre-backs to control our striker. Especially in the bad moments, you have to go with your gut. And I always go by that, no matter what."

As well as making an impact on the field, it appears Cunha is doing the same off it. According to The Sun , the Brazilian has cut a friendly figure behind the scenes and is providing good for morale at Old Trafford. They claim that Cunha has been well received by members of staff and is very pleasant to all, while one source said he has been "great around the place."

It is also said he has struck up a friendship with Luke Shaw and is much more extroverted than fellow summer signing Bryan Mbeumo, who joined from Brentford.

Cunha's international team-mate Casemiro started the match at Anfield and wasn't afraid to dish out some heavy challenges. Just before the hour mark, he went into the book and he was replaced by Manuel Ugarte a minute later.

The holding midfielder has started six of United's eight league games but has been no stranger to a booking. So far, he has been shown three yellow cards and was sent off in the win against Chelsea after being booked twice.

Casemiro missed the loss against Brentford as he served a one-match suspension but Amorim could soon be given another headache to deal with. The Brazilian has technically been shown five yellows this season already.

Aside from the Chelsea and Liverpool cards, he was also shown a yellow in the win against Sunderland and the draw against Fulham . He is now in the somewhat risky predicament of only needing two more cautions for another one-match ban . He will have until the 19th game of the season to avoid two bookings too, which is a tall order for a player of his tendencies.

Harry Maguire bagged a late winner against Liverpool, which capped off an impeccable performance at the back. The English defender has endured tough spells at Old Trafford and Peter Crouch claims he's been made a villain.

"I'm just really, really pleased for Maguire," Crouch said on That Peter Crouch Podcast . "Throughout my career, there have been points where I've been low and I've had a lot of grief, a lot of stick, so I kind of know what that's like.

"For him to get that amount of grief, it was above and beyond what is acceptable, I think. Attacking his family, his personality, the way he looks, everything was wrong about the way he's been villainised at that club.

"I just think it shows absolutely massive b******s to consistently go [and perform]. Even the game against Liverpool, it was like, 'Ah, why is he playing?' There's always this whole thing of being down on him starting."
