Man Utd set to appoint another ex-Man City coach who played with Jason Wilcox
MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly set move for ex-Man City youth coach Alan Wright.
The former Aston Villa , Sheffield United and Blackburn star is in talks with United over a role as a professional development phase coach.

Wright was previously an U16s coach at City for a decade and is currently attached to agency Harwick Sports Management.
The Athletic claims he is now set to become the latest staffer associated with City to trade the Etihad for Old Trafford.
Omar Berrada quit Pep Guardiola’s side to become United’s new CEO last year.
City’s former head of sports science, Sam Erith, is now at United as performance director.
While director of football Jason Wilcox was their academy director between 2017 and 2023 before joining United from Southampton.
He played alongside Wright at Blackburn, with the pair now set to work together bolstering United’s academy.
Wright will also directly report to Travis Binnion, a former teammate at Sheffield United who is now United’s U21s head coach and head of player development.
It follows Stephen Torpey’s arrival from Brentford as United’s new academy director, with Nick Cox set to join Everton as technical director.
Wright’s playing career started at Blackpool, where he played 98 times before making 74 appearances at Blackburn.
He then joined Aston Villa in 1995 and remained there for eight years, playing 260 times in the process.

Wright then bounced between numerous clubs including Middlesbrough, Sheffield United, Leeds and Nottingham Forest.
He finally retired in 2011 after playing for Fleetwood Town.
The ex-England U21s star also had a brief managerial spell with Northwich Victoria and Southport before spending a decade with City’s academy.
