Manchester City forward ruled out of Manchester Derby

Manchester City have confirmed that Omar Marmoush will miss this weekend’s clash with Manchester United .

The Egyptian has been ruled out of the Manchester Derby with a knee injury sustained on international duty this week. Marmoush was withdraw just nine minutes into Egypt’s goalless draw with Burkina Faso on Tuesday evening.

City have not given a timeframe for his return, but confirmed Marmoush will miss this weekend’s Manchester Derby at the Etihad. The 26-year-old will return to the Etihad to undergo assessments on the issue.

“Initial results on a scan performed in Egypt indicate he will not be available for the Manchester derby on Sunday, and he will now return to Manchester for more assessment and to begin his rehabilitation,” a City statement read.

“Everyone at City wishes Omar a speedy recovery.”
