Manchester United: Altay Bayindir reveals Senne Lammens relationship as 'fight' for No1 jersey intensifies
Belgian arrived at Old Trafford for an £18.2million fee
Altay Bayindir has emphasised the importance of unity within Manchester United ’s goalkeeping department.
The Turkish international, who had started the campaign as Ruben Amorim ’s first-choice shot-stopper, was dropped in the recent victory over Sunderland .
He was replaced between the sticks by the Belgian Senne Lammens , who United signed over the summer from Antwerp .
Lammens impressed against the Black Cats, keeping a clean sheet on-debut, and he received a strong reception from home support at Old Trafford.
Baynidir had come under criticism for previous mistakes while keeping goal for the Red Devils, similar to Andre Onana , who was shipped out on loan to Turkish side Trabzonspor last month.
However, Baynidir believes that competition can only be a good thing for the No1 jersey at Old Trafford.
“That is the way, everyone has to be together, always,” Bayindir told the Manchester Evening News.
“We have a good group; a good goalkeeper group, and we are always pushing each [other] on the pitch.
“Of course, we are fighting for the shirt, but on the outside, we have a good relationship, like how we did with Andre. He is at Trabzonspor and he is doing well.”
United are preparing to face Liverpool following the international break, as the pressure continues to mount on Amorim.
The Red Devils sit 10th in the Premier League table, with three wins in their opening seven games.
