Manchester United have reached a ‘verbal agreement’ over a deal for Rasmus Hojlund to leave Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim has made it clear he wants Hojlund to go by leaving the striker out of his matchday squads at the start of the 2025-25 season.

Hojlund was Manchester United’s first-choice striker last season but struggled, scoring just four league goals.

United have been open to offers for Hojlund since signing Benjamin Sesko in a £74m deal from RB Leipzig.

Hojlund wanted to stay put and fight for his place but has accepted his Manchester United career is over – for the time being at least – due to Amorim’s brutal selections.

A number of clubs registered interest in signing the 22-year-old and Napoli have emerged as the frontrunners to strike a deal.

According to Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio , United have now reached a ‘verbal agreement’ with Napoli over a deal for Hojlund.
