Manchester United XI vs Brighton: Confirmed team news, predicted lineup and injury latest for Premier League
Ruben Amorim has almost fully-fit squad to choose from as resurgent Red Devils aim for third straight win
Ruben Amorim will likely want to keep changes to a minimum as resurgent Manchester United host Brighton in the Premier League this weekend.
For the first time in what feels like a very long time, there is some much-needed confidence and momentum around the Red Devils at the moment after they beat fierce rivals Liverpool at Anfield last time out for the first time in a decade.
That added to a 2-0 home triumph over promoted Sunderland before the international break, meaning they have now won back-to-back league matches for the first time during Amorim’s tumultuous reign.
United’s recent upturn in fortunes has been helped by a relatively clear injury list, with only long-term absentee Lisandro Martinez missing the win over Liverpool as he builds up his fitness having not played since February following surgery on an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
This game also looks set to come too soon for Martinez, though Leny Yoro and the fit-again Noussair Mazraoui are both options if Amorim wants to switch things up defensively, along with wing-back Patrick Dorgu.
Manuel Ugarte would be the most likely to come in if Amorim opted to freshen up in midfield, with Kobbie Mainoo still getting limited chances to make an impact.
Deadline Day signing Senne Lammens has hugely impressed in his first two outings since replacing Altay Bayindir as United’s first-choice goalkeeper and will surely start again at Old Trafford, where he was flatteringly compared to the great Peter Schmeichel on debut against Sunderland.
Benjamin Sesko is likely to have to make do with a place on the bench once more against Brighton, with Amorim having chosen fellow summer arrival Matheus Cunha to lead the attack at Anfield, ably supported by the impressive Bryan Mbeumo and Mason Mount .
With their winning run, strong home form, lack of injuries and a clear midweek given a complete absence of European football this term, there shouldn’t be reason for United to change much at all on Saturday.
Predicted Manchester United XI (3-4-2-1): Lammens; De Ligt, Maguire, Shaw; Amad, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dalot; Mbeumo, Mount; Cunha
Injured: Martinez
