Marc Guiu has opened up on the chaotic summer transfer window and insists Chelsea are the "best club in the world for me right now".

The Blues recalled the 19-year-old striker from his loan at Sunderland after just 26 days spent at the Stadium of Light. The west Londoners took the decision to bring Guiu back to Stamford Bridge after Liam Delap limped off with a hamstring injury, with the striker expected to be out until at least November.

Guiu was also brought back after Bayern Munich agreed a deal with Chelsea to sign Nicolas Jackson. Guiu made three appearances for Sunderland before being recalled and came off the bench for 16 minutes of action in the 2-1 win over Liverpool.

“We initially decided to go to Sunderland with great enthusiasm and excitement to get some minutes in the top flight and get some experience,” Guiu told Spanish outlet RTVE. “In the end, there was an injury [to Delap], and I had to return to Chelsea, now with great enthusiasm and training hard every day.

“When Nico [Jackson] said no [to returning to Chelsea from Bayern], they called me, we talked about it, and it was quick. In the end, I want to succeed at Chelsea. And that's how it was.”

With Delap out injured, Joao Pedro has been Chelsea's starting No.9 in recent weeks, while Tyrique George has also been deployed as a makeshift striker. Guiu was thrown on against the champions before the international break and the former Barcelona man believes he can make an impact if given the chance by Enzo Maresca.

“It was all a bit chaotic, but in the end, I'm a person who faces everything with the utmost positivity, and that's how I faced it, now enjoying every moment, because a footballer's career is short. And that's what I'm doing, enjoying every moment that life gives me," Guiu said.

“[There was] never disappointment [at leaving Sunderland]. I believe that every action I take in my career is because I want to. And that's it, I'm going to fight in every training session, in every game, every minute I have to play as many minutes as possible.

“Now I'm at Chelsea, and that's where I am. I'm from Chelsea, the best club in the world for me right now.”
