Arsenal sensation Max Dowman declared he is only just getting started after his sensational debut in Saturday’s 5-0 win over Leeds United .
The 15-year-old became the second youngest player in the club’s history when he came off the bench to replace summer signing Noni Madueke with 25 minutes remaining.
Dowman’s cameo represented one of the highlights of an uplifting afternoon for the Gunners who built on last weekend’s victory at Old Trafford with convincing win.
A fter unveiling new signing Eberechi Eze prior to kick-off , the home fans were delighted to see fellow new arrival Viktory Gyokeres get off the mark with two confidence building goals.
But the biggest cheer of the day was, perhaps, reserved for Dowman’s introduction and the teenager didn’t disappoint.
The gifted forward proceeded to terrorise Gabriel Gudmundsson and capped an eye-catching display by winning the late penalty which allowed Gyokeres to complete the rout .
Hype around the latest gem to roll off the Hale End Academy production line has been building for well over a year following Mikel Arteta’s decision to allow the forward to train with the first team on a regular basis.

Dowman impressed in pre-season and now looks likely to feature on a regular basis after such an encouraging first taste of senior football.
Reacting to the overwhelmingly positive response to his debut, he wrote on Instagram: ‘Premier league debut in front of all of you at the Emirates
‘A proud day for me and my family. This is just the beginning!’
Arteta now faces a challenge to nurture Dowman’s talent, provide him with the minutes his talent dictates he should be getting while keeping expectation to a realistic level.

Asked if he was surprised by Dowman’s impact against Leeds, he said: ‘This is what we see every single day in training, and I think we just gathered information about how he handles certain situations in terms of training, being in the squad and not being selected afterwards in Manchester, coming on the bench and feeling ready.
‘But again, a big compliment to his family as well. I think there is a kid with a level of maturity, stability and hunger that is very difficult to see.
