He arrived in Istanbul in 2024 just six months after being sacked as the manager of Roma .

And despite going trophyless with Fenerbahce - only the second club he has failed to land silverware with alongside Tottenham - he is set to land a tidy compensation sum for his termination.

According to Turkish outlet Fanatik , Mourinho is set to be paid a severance package of £13million.

Across his glittering career, the master tactician has pocketed a considerable sum in severance payments.

And following his latest dismissal, Mourinho is now close to landing £100m in payouts.

He earned a whopping £26.3m from Chelsea following his two sackings by the Stamford Bridge outfit.

The Special One earned his biggest payout when he was sacked in his third season at Manchester United , taking home a package worth £19.6m.

Between his Chelsea stints when he managed Real Madrid he was also paid £17m in compensation by the Spanish giants.

His most recent job in England , Spurs, saw him bag £15m in severance pay.

Mourinho then wound up at Roma, but landed the smallest payout of his career by taking home just £3m.

But his latest sacking has arrived following a 1-0 defeat to his old rivals Benfica, having drawn the first leg of their Champions League qualification tie 0-0 in Istanbul last week.

And the £13m he is expected to earn means he will sit on a pretty severance total of £93m.

It also comes mere hours after his United successor, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer , was also sacked by fellow Turkish club Besiktas after they crashed out of the Champions League qualification round.

Mourinho has already hinted his next job could take him back to the Premier League.

He said last October: " The best thing I have to do is - when I leave Fenerbahce - I go to a club that doesn't play Uefa competitions.

"So if any club in England, from the bottom of the table, needs coach in two years - I am ready to go."
