Napoli hero Rasmus Hojlund candidly speaks out on his stunning revival after Genoa win
Manchester United loanee Rasmus Hojlund has shared his honest verdict on his incredible turnaround in fortunes after joining Napoli.
Hojlund is experiencing a remarkable resurgence at Napoli, looking like a completely transformed player compared to the one who struggled to deliver at United.
He has made six appearances for Napoli across Serie A and the Champions League, scoring four goals in that process.
Hojlund was the hero once again for Napoli on Sunday, netting the decisive goal to complete their comeback against Genoa. The striker reacted fastest to tuck away a rebound from close range.
Hojlund may have been unsure about leaving United in the summer, but with the way he’s performing now, he certainly won’t be regretting the decision.
After the final whistle vs. Genoa, Hojlund spoke to DAZN and gave his verdict on his revival.
The striker said [as quoted by Football Italia ], “I don’t think I’ve changed much.”
“I’m just doing my job and working day by day to give my best and bring something to the team.”
On Antonio Conte gesturing and issuing instructions to him during the game vs. Genoa, Hojlund revealed, “He saw I was a bit tired and told me to use my head – he needed that from me, a bit of clarity to refresh myself and keep playing.”
Hojlund also told Sky Sports, “Winning twice in a week at the Maradona is huge.”
“Maybe today wasn’t our best performance, but taking all three points was the most important thing.”
Napoli are believed to be very happy with Hojlund’s progress at the club so far and are already looking to make his stay a permanent one.
