A statement released by the Gunners confirmed Odegaard would miss the current international window - but failed to set a timeline for his recovery.
Now according to the BBC , the Norwegian will remain unavailable until after the next set of international fixtures in the middle of November.
It means Odegaard will miss Premier League games against Fulham, Crystal Palace, Burnley and Sunderland.
He is also set to be ruled out of Champions League matches against Atletico Madrid and Slavia Prague.
Odegaard has been plagued by injury problems since the start of the season.
He was forced off in the first half of three consecutive league games having also picked up a shoulder injury in September.
Arsenal host North London rivals Tottenham immediately after next month's international break.
But it remains to be seen whether Odegaard can recover in time for the derby clash on 23 November at the Emirates.
