Park scores twice as Man Utd win at Hill Dickinson

Manchester United came from behind to earn all three points in the first women's game at Hill Dickinson Stadium .

Despite midweek European football, United were much the better side for the majority of the game against an unchanged Everton.

After a succession of early chances in the first ten minutes, it was the Toffees who scored the first women's goal at the club's new ground.

United won't be happy with the awarding of the freekick for an apparent foul by Anna Sandberg on the lively Katie Robinson, nor Clare Wheeler's attentions on goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce after the delivery, but there was nothing they could have done about a superb finish from Honoka Hayashi who was the quickest to react as the ball bounced in the box.

Brian Sørensen's side did well to keep a solid defensive shape for the rest of the first half as United looked increasingly frustrated.

Indeed, Everton were ahead with their only shot on target for the majority of the 90 minutes while in the second half United looked to be struggling to create

The leveller eventually came with just over an hour gone after good work from Hinata Miyazawa, who played Melvine Malard through. The French forward's effort was well saved by Emily Ramsey but Malard was able to follow up on the rebound.

The visitors got lucky with the goal that gave them a lead as a free-kick delivery bounced around in the box with Hikaru Kitagawa putting the ball in her own net as she tried to clear.

The game was wrapped up by substitute Jess Park , who spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Everton. Her first took a deflection to make it 3-1 in the 84th minute but five minutes later she scored a superb effort after the returning Leah Galton pressed well with Ella Toone then laying the ball on for Park to finish.

It was a deserved win in the end for Manchester United but one they were made to work hard for by Everton.
