The Reds broke the British transfer record on signing Florian Wirtz for £116.5m before doing it AGAIN on deadline day.

Alexander Isak finally made the switch from Newcastle to Anfield in an astonishing £130m transfer .

Five other clubs also spent over £200m, including Chelsea , Newcastle United , Arsenal , Manchester United and Nottingham Forest .

United spent big on attackers as they attempt to make themselves competitive again.

Ruben Amorim greenlit more than a £200m splurge on three new front men in Benjamin Sesko , Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha .

Sesko was the Red Devils' biggest expenditure on one player as the striker arrived from RB Leipzig for £74m .

North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham were embroiled in one of the most dramatic transfers of the window.

The Gunners swooped in to hijack Spurs' deal to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace for £67.5m.

This saw Thomas Frank's side move for Xavi Simons as a £52m alternative .

Only six clubs in the top flight spent under £100m during the summer transfer window, namely Wolverhampton Wanderers , Aston Villa , Brentford, Crystal Palace, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Burnley.
