Reactions: “We have very good players, who can make a lot out of a little”
Sebastian Kehl (in the mixed zone): “There were a few things we didn’t do so well in the first half. That’s also part of the truth about tonight, but at the end of the day, it’s still the Champions League. It was a heated atmosphere and a team that still believed in themselves, especially after drawing the scores level at 1-1. That’s why you have to survive phases like that. In the second half, we played very confidently and cleanly, so we’re very happy with the win. We’re in a good position, with seven points, and have scored four goals again. Felix Nmecha had a very good game, scored two goals and deservedly won Man of the Match . Fabio Silva has been an energising influence in every game he’s come on in. He rewarded himself with his first goal. For a striker, that’s worth its weight in gold.”

Niko Kovac (on DAZN): “We had to figure out our opponents. In the first half, we were too slow. We were simply taking too many touches of the ball. The circulation was too slow. We had the quality to react at half-time. The lads put it into practice straight away, and at the end of the day, we deserved to win. You need something like that (the penalty to make it 2-1, editor’s note) to give you a second wind. But then you could see that we have very good players who can make a lot out of a little. At the end of the day, I’m very happy for Felix (Nmecha), who scored his first brace in his career today. The team did very well in the second half. I have to single out Jobe (Bellingham) because he had a very good game today.”
Fabio Silva (on BVB TV): “My teammates, all the lads who have worked with me in the gym since my injury, have done a lot to help me. Now I feel 100% fit again. Many thanks to everyone who has worked with me. Thanks to the coach. I always try to use my energy and help my teammates to create chances. I’m very happy about this goal.”
Felix Nmecha (on BVB TV): “Things are going well with the goals at the moment. We can be satisfied, but we also know that there is room for improvement, of course. It was a very important win for us, and we have to build on it and hopefully get better and better.”
