SOURCES: Manchester United hold CONCRETE interest in Motor Lublin defender Bright Ede

Manchester United are among the clubs with a concrete interest in Motor Lubin defender Bright Ede. The Reds, who have begun to find their way in the market for younger players in recent months, have registered an interest in the defender, who also has significant suitors from around Europe and other clubs within the Premier League, including BlueCo/Chelsea.

United have made some clever signings in recent months for both the academy and the first team. Ayden Heaven last season is a significant example of that, as are the likes of Chido Obi and, more recently, Harley Emsden-James from Southampton. It’s a welcome change for the club, who are clearly planning for the future, and a signing like Bright Ede could provide another example of that.

A deal is still difficult despite the concrete interest. United are not alone, as previously mentioned, and will face a battle if they do decide to make a more formal approach. A move away this summer is a possibility for the player too, so any of the clubs interested will have to be quick to get a deal over the line before the deadline.

Ede is 18-years-old, and has been at Motor Lubin since 2025, having joined the club from Zaglebie Lubin II. He was born in Poland and operates as a centre-back primarily, although considering his ability on the ball, it would not be a surprise to see the player as a defensive midfielder in the future. Ede has represented Poland at U18 level and is a left-footed player, which many will know is a coveted asset as a central defender.

There is no confirmation of a fee yet, although various suggestions in Poland have the rumoured price at around £7.3m. As mentioned previously, Manchester United’s interest is concrete, but a deal is not currently advanced just yet due to the sheer amount of interest in the player from England and around Europe.

It’s also currently unknown whether Ede would be signed for the first team directly or the academy initially. Ayden Heaven’s introduction into the club is a message to anyone thinking of continuing their development at United that if you are good enough, you will be part of the first team straight away.

More positive signs of recruitment from INEOS, Jason Wilcox and Christopher Vivell, who are quite clearly attempting to build for the future at Manchester United . It remains to be seen whether Bright Ede will be part of that future, but one thing is sure: United are attempting to make that happen.
