Thomas Tuchel fires England warning at Trent after squad omission
England boss Thomas Tuchel had a message of warning for Real Madrid star Trent Alexander-Arnold in latest squad announcement.
The German coach has opted to omit Trent from his latest panel as England restart 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying next month.
Tuchel has made a few bold calls in his latest reveal with T rent’s Los Blancos teammate Jude Bellingham already ruled out following shoulder surgery.
Trent was included in Tuchel’s first two squads, in March and June, with the latter camp coming just days before he first joined up with Real Madrid ahead of their Club World Cup flight to Miami.

However, the picture has changed in recent weeks, with inevitable criticism landing at Trent’s door following a mixed start to La Liga life.
Dani Carvajal replaced him for the win against Real Oviedo last weekend, as Xabi Alonso looks to finesse his right-back plans for the coming months, amid bold rumours he could move back to the Premier League at the start of 2026.

The 26-year-old remains determined to get up to speed in Madrid and the club have firmly rejected those exit rumours.
The battle to start for club and country is on for Trent, with Carvajal recalled to Luis de ls Fuente’s Spain squad , and Reece James ahead of him in Tuchel’s current pecking order.
“There is no doubt I’m a big fan of Trent and Jack Grealish,” as per BBC Sport.
“Big players and big personalities, are always in the mix. I know both are desperate to come back in, but in this camp we decided for Reece [James] and Tino Livramento for Trent. In Jack [Grealish’s] place, Rashy [Marcus Rashford] and Ebs [Eberechi Eze]. The competition is up.”
England won their first three qualifiers, with no goals conceded, via victories against Albania, Latvia and Andorra.
Up next is a Villa Park clash with Andorra on September 6 and a trip to Serbia three days later.
