After United's 2-0 win against Villa on last season's final day, it was announced that Lindelof, along with Johnny Evans and Christian Eriksen, would be leaving the club following the expiry of their contracts.
In his "Farewell Interview" he said: "It has been an honour, a privilege, and a dream come true to represent this club for eight years.
"I want to thank our fans who are with us through absolutely everything. Every time I stepped out on to the pitch, I gave my everything. I just hope the fans have seen that as well.
"I've been wearing this badge with great pride. I wish nothing but the best for everyone at Man United."
A move to Florence would reunite him with former United goalkeeper David De Gea, who is entering his second season with the Italians.
Lindelof and De Gea were team-mates at United from 2017-2023. De Gea then left the club after failing to agree a new contract.
The 34-year-old Spaniard left United as a legend having spent 12 years at Old Trafford, making 545 appearances.
He won the Premier League, Europa League and the FA Cup, along with two Golden Glove awards for the most clean sheets in a season.
He spent the entirety of the 2023/24 season out of work as a free agent before joining Fiorentina in August of last year.
Despite Fiorentina's interest in the Swedish international, Lindelof reportedly has two other offers on the table from Premier League sides.
