Tottenham will be looking to continue their perfect start to the season later today when they host Bournemouth in the Premier League.
A fantastic start to the season has seen Spurs beat Burnley 3-0 before picking up an impressive 2-0 victory against Manchester City, with Thomas Frank's side one of three teams yet to drop points in the Premier League this season. Only Spurs and Arsenal have won both games without conceding a goal, and the Lilywhites will be hoping to continue their strong form when they welcome Bournemouth to north London later today.
Spurs failed to beat the Cherries last season, with Bournemouth winning 1-0 at home before drawing 2-2 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Richarlison will likely be preferred to Dominic Solanke up front once again, with Frank unlikely to make any changes to the side that beat Man City last weekend. So, can Spurs make it three wins from three in the Premier League later today? Let's take a look.
To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 25 and updated the squads with the latest injuries, suspensions, and transfers. The kits from the 2025/26 season aren't available in EA FC 25, so both sides were lined up in last season's kits, while new transfers may have incorrect squad numbers in-game.
We predict that Spurs could line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Spence; Bentancur, Palhinha; Kudus, Sarr, Johnson; Richarlison.
We predict that the Cherries could line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Petrovic; Smith, Diakite, Senesi, Truffert; Adams, Scott; Semenyo, Tavernier, Brooks; Evanilson.
Bournemouth started aggressively and on the front foot, and nine minutes in, they took the lead when David Brooks' driven cross was slid in at the back post by Antoine Semenyo. The visitors defended well to take their lead into the break, and just four minutes after the restart, a defensive error allowed the Cherries and Semenyo a second.

A sloppy pass from Djed Spence just outside the Spurs box was picked up by Evanilson, with the Brazilian beating Micky van de Ven to the loose ball. The striker flicked a pass into the path of Semenyo, and a fierce strike saw the winger find the top corner to double the visitors' lead.
Frank looked to his bench for inspiration, and substitute Dominic Solanke almost pulled a goal back with his first touch as he fired a cross onto the post from close range. After going two goals down, Spurs dominated, and with six minutes remaining, they got on the scoresheet.

Pedro Porro picked out Rodrigo Bentancur's deep run into the box with a wonderful cross, but a fantastic save from the 'keeper denied the midfielder from a few yards out. Fortunately for Spurs, Mohamed Kudus met the rebound and tapped into an empty net to make it 2-1.
Spurs' tails were up, but it was too little too late as they failed to find an equaliser in their first defeat of the season.
