Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest lock horns in the Premier League on Sunday in a vital match for both sides. Eddie Howe's team rebounded impressively from last weekend's last-gasp defeat to Arsenal by securing a resounding 4-0 victory against Belgium's Union SG in the Champions League .

The Magpies now need to build momentum in the league after a disappointing start, which has yielded just one win in their first six matches. The game will see the return of Elliot Anderson to St James' Park after Newcastle reluctantly sold the midfield ace to Forest in 2024 to comply with PSR regulations.

Ahead of the match, Howe confessed that parting ways with Anderson, now an England international, was difficult and expressed his desire to bring the 22-year-old back to the club.

Another reunion is on the cards as Anthony Elanga, who moved in the opposite direction this summer, comes up against his old team, where things are far from rosy.

Following the controversial sacking of the popular Nuno Espirito Santo due to a fallout with owner Evangelos Marinakis, his successor, Ange Postecoglou, is already under pressure after failing to secure a win in his first six games. Mirror Football brings you everything you need to know about watching the game...

The game kicks off at St James' Park at 2pm on Sunday, October 5.

Per Sky Sports ' current Premier League contract, all Sunday matches can be broadcast live, including those kicking off at 2pm.

The Newcastle vs Forest game, one of four kicking off simultaneously, will be broadcast on the Sky Sports Main Event channel, with coverage starting an hour before kick-off.

Those with a subscription can stream the match via the Sky Sports app. If you're not a subscriber, you can watch the match through the Sky-owned NOW service, where a Sky Sports day pass is available for £14.99.

A flexible monthly membership can be purchased for £31.99.

Howe has confirmed that forward Yoane Wissa's knee injury will keep him out longer than initially expected, preventing him from making his debut so far.

Full-back Tino Livramento is set to spend eight weeks out due to knee ligament damage, although this was somewhat positive news given initial fears that the England international could be sidelined for much longer. For Forest, Murrillo, Ola Aina, Douglas Luiz and Oleksandr Zinchenko are all sidelined.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, saving members £192 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
