The days of the summer transfer window are slowly ebbing away from Arsenal and their rivals as they look to do last minute business before the deadline.

The Gunners have up until 7pm on Monday, 1 September to complete their business, anything not done before that deadline will have to wait until the window re-opens at the start of January.

It’s been a relatively successful window for Arsenal so far, with Eberechi Eze becoming the seventh new arrival at the Emirates Stadium since the end of last season.

While concentration may now be on outgoings, there could yet still be some new faces come in before the deadline.

There has been a lot of talk over potential transfers between now and then. So, we’ve taken a look at some of the latest stories, and also given our thoughts on the situation.

Arsenal will have to pay the full €60 million (£51.8m) release clause of Piero Hincapie if they wish to sign the defender this summer, according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.

There is said to be concrete negotiations between Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen over a possible transfer, but it is said that the German side are ‘insisting’ that the full release clause is paid.

The Gunners meanwhile want to pay less than the current asking price, with the player himself keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium.

FL says : Arsenal will hope that they will be able to negotiate the price down over the next few days, but will have a decision to make if Leverkusen stick to their guns.

If they decide to pay the current fee being demanded could potentially depend on how much the club bring in via outgoings between now and the end of the window.

Reported Arsenal transfer target Ademola Lookman has reportedly moved back to London in an attempt to force a move away from Atalanta this summer.

The former Fulham and Everton man released a statement this month confirming that he had handed in a formal transfer request with the Italian club. It came amid interest from Inter Milan, but a move to the Italian side now doesn’t seem to be on the cards.

CaughtOffside report that after submitting the transfer request, Lookman has re-located back to London, and is currently training individually with no plans to reintegrate back into the first team squad until the transfer window closes.

FL says : The signing of Eberechi Eze probably makes a move for Lookman this window more unlikely, especially given the price that Atalanta are demanding. The Serie A side are said to want a fee of around £45 million.

Unless they lower that, then it’s a move that is not likely to happen for Arsenal.
