But with Thomas Tuchel only able to name a 23-man squad for the World Cup qualifier in Belgrade, he had to leave one of his 24 players in the camp out.
And that is Lewis-Skelly.
Lewis-Skelly played the full 90 minutes at the weekend as England maintained their 100 per cent start to the qualifying campaign.
The Three Lions kept a clean sheet as an own goal and his Arsenal pal Declan Rice's header secured the routine win.
But he will play no part in the fiery atmosphere of the Stadion Rajko Mitic later.
That leaves the door open for Tino Livramento, Djed Spence or Dan Burn to feature at left-back.
Spence earned his first call-up to the senior England squad for this double header.
But after remaining an unused sub against Andorra, he will be hoping to make his debut.
However, SunSport understands it will be Livramento who gets the nod to start.
