Jamie Carragher has slammed Arsenal supporters' reaction to media coverage surrounding their club. Mikel Arteta's squad currently sit atop the Premier League table following Liverpool's consecutive defeats.
The Gunners now hold a one-point advantage over Arne Slot's side after victories against Newcastle United and West Ham in recent fixtures. Arsenal fans are now feeling increasingly confident that they'll break their five-year silverware drought and claim their first league championship since 2004.
Arteta's squad has come agonisingly close in recent campaigns - securing second place finishes in three straight seasons. The former Liverpool defender has now weighed in on the media storyline surrounding the north London club - highlighting what he sees as bias from certain supporters.
"In January, Arsenal beat Liverpool 3-1. The game was over with around 15 minutes to go, no last-minute winner, and there was a bit of a celebration after the game," he said on the Overlap Fan Debate.
"It's January and you were still behind Liverpool. [Against Liverpool on Saturday] Enzo Maresca reacted to a goal going in that second, in the last kick of the game in a game Chelsea thought they had no chance.
"That's a natural reaction at the end of the game – we'd all be a like a lunatic, last-minute winner against the champions.
"Arsenal were at a stage where you had a brilliant result, and we're talking a few minutes after the game has finished and all the cameras are out – I was thinking 'Woah, slow down'.
"It's not a media narrative against Arsenal; it's a last-minute winner. I think Arsenal supporters online are a little bit touchy, with Chelsea not far behind.
"Arsenal have a big presence online, which is fine, there's a huge fanbase, but you think the world is against you."

The Gunners are set to return to action after the international break with an away match at Fulham . A win could see Arsenal go four points clear of Liverpool before Slot's team face off against Manchester United the following day.
Following their victory over West Ham, Arteta expressed: "[I am] Very happy. We knew it would be a tough match.
"Three games in seven days and two very intense games before this. Very happy.
"When we played Newcastle we said we had to learn from the past and the scars we had in that stadium. Today as well we lost the previous two at the Emirates (against West Ham) but we won today and fully deserved it."
