We are now into the final week of the 2025 summer transfer window and for Chelsea , there is still so much more business to complete.
Eight players in total have arrived at Stamford Bridge this summer , although three of them have been loaned out, while the Blues have also been very busy on the outgoing front. The club have sanctioned 14 exits altogether during the window, with the majority of them being permanent departures.
Work to be done on Simons deal
It has now been over a month since Chelsea initially opened club-to-club talks with RB Leipzig over the signing of Xavi Simons . This has been undoubtedly a slow burner - something we do not usually see in modern day football when it comes to transfers, and particularly not with Chelsea.
It is up to Chelsea now to finalise the signing of Simons. There remains a confidence a deal will be struck, even with time running out. The Blues, meanwhile, are anxiously waiting to discover the extent of Cole Palmer's groin injury , which could mean bringing the Leipzig attacker to Stamford Bridge even more crucial.
Talks continue to sign Garnacho
That should come, even though the two clubs were some way off in their valuation of the winger recently . Ruben Amorim has already admitted that Garnacho is set to leave Old Trafford and with Chelsea needing some more depth on the left-hand side, this is very much one we expect to go through before the deadline.
The quicker Chelsea can get this done, the better. Similarly with Simons, the Blues do not want to let it go down to deadline day where they have to rush and scramble to reach an agreement.
Eight players leave
There are at least eight players that could be on their way out before the transfer deadline. Borussia Dortmund are closing in on the signings of Carney Chukwuemeka and Aaron Anselmino, with the former on a permanent basis and the latter on a loan deal.
Axel Disasi has potential suitors from the Premier League and abroad, but nothing is advanced in terms of the Frenchman departing Stamford Bridge. Likewise with Ben Chilwell , who continues to train away from the first team at Cobham with his future looking to be away from SW6.
Raheem Sterling , too, is in a similar boat. There is interest from England, notably Fulham, in signing the 30-year-old winger but finances could prove an issue in that case. There are also admirers from Saudi Arabia, though Sterling is thought to want to stay playing his football in Europe.
Bayern Munich explored a deal for Nkunku but the German champions wanted to sign the Frenchman on loan while Chelsea wanted a permanent solution. RB Leipzig are also in the race to re-sign the versatile attacker.
