Champions League fixtures revealed including dream tie for Newcastle

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE fixtures have been announced following Thursday's draw.

Liverpool , Manchester City , Newcastle , Tottenham , Chelsea and Arsenal all learned their eight opponents during the lavish draw ceremony in Monaco.

Dates and kick off times have now been confirmed for the league phase, which is set to begin on September 16.

The league phase will run until a dramatic final day on January 28, when all 36 teams will be in action at the same time.

Following matchday eight, the top eight teams will advance automatically to the last 16, while those placed between nine and 24 will battle it out in a play-off round.

Teams placed 25th and below will be eliminated.

The draw has produced several exciting match-ups.

Chelsea will begin their campaign with a tough trip to Harry Kane 's Bayern Munich on September 17.

While Arsenal's penultimate match on January 20 will see them travel to last year's finalists Inter Milan .

Newcastle landed a dream date with Barcelona , which will take place at St James' Park on September 18.

Manchester City, meanwhile, will welcome club legend Kevin De Bruyne back to the Etihad.

The Belgian maestro, 34, will return to Eastlands alongside former Manchester United star Scott McTominay as Napoli take on City on September 18.

Liverpool will host a glamour tie against Real Madrid at Anfield on November 4.

While Tottenham's Super Cup rematch with reigning Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain will take place at Parc des Princes on November 26.
